The outer housing is a replacement part that was made by Pentair. Making this a genuine OEM product.

The housing was designed for the purpose of being a protective cover for the internal parts of the cleaner while giving it a clean sleek look. This also provides the cleaner the ability to glide through the water as it performs its cleaning tasks ensuring there isn’t any impediment that could possibly disrupt the cleaning process.

This part is a dark blue and can be found above the chassis “lower-body” making it very easy to identify and locate if or when needing to be replaced as it is only held together by the rubber bristle pad on the bottom. When trying to troubleshoot an issue with the cleaner being weighed down or having trouble climbing it could be caused to the outer housing being cracked or damaged so you want to check the integrity of this housing for such damage and replacing if the damage is found to restore the cleaner back to its normal functionality.
