The latch-main housing w/ springs is a replacement part made by Polaris. The same high-quality materials were used to manufacture the original factory part. Making this a genuine OEM product.

This latch was designed to be the locking mechanism that keeps the canister top (blue) secured in place without it being able to open or disconnect itself as the cleaner is operating. If this were to occur it would expose the filter canisters and the dirt and debris they are meant to trap and hold, releasing themselves back into the pool which would ultimately make the cleaning process ineffective.

The part itself is silver and comes with two springs that help create the tension needed to keep the latch in place as the cleaner operates. Applying pressure to the latch with your hand and fingers will detach the canister top exposing the filter canisters inside for removal and or cleaning. This will restore the cleaning power to the Quattro Sport.
